今回は1か月後の経過観察レポートです🌱
This time it’s a progress report — one month later. 🌱
まずはビフォーアフター——1か月前と今を比較
First, the Before & After — Comparing 1 Month Ago to Now

ヒノキゴケに新芽が！！1か月でこんなに変わった
New Shoots on Hinokigoke!! This Much Change in Just 1 Month
いやちょっと待って。
増えてるやん。
しかもただ生き残ったとかじゃなくて、
ヒノキゴケの茎から新芽が出てるんです。
Wait, hold on. It’s actually growing. And not just surviving — new shoots are sprouting directly from the Hinokigoke stems.
苔ってこんな感じで増えていくんや…。
地味に見えて、裏ではめちゃくちゃ頑張ってる。
接写してみるとさらに感動。
So this is how moss spreads… It looks subtle from the outside, but behind the scenes it’s working incredibly hard. A close-up makes it even more moving.
もうね、赤ちゃんです。
苔の赤ちゃん。
サイズ感で言うと「え？ホコリ？」レベルなんですが、
ちゃんと命の主張をしてます（笑）
These are babies. Moss babies. Size-wise, we’re talking “wait, is that dust?” level — but they’re absolutely asserting their existence. (lol)
しかもこの小さい芽、見れば見るほど可愛い。
なんなんこの生命体。
森の妖精のヒゲみたいやん。
And the more you look at these tiny shoots, the cuter they get. What even is this life form? They look like the beard of a forest fairy.

さらにタマゴケも確認してみると…
And then I checked on the Tamagoke too…
こっちはこっちで、しっかり着生を始めています。
This one is also making solid progress on attaching.
まだ「完全に根付いた！」って感じではないんですが、
溶岩石にしがみつこうとしてる感じがあります。
自然界でもこうやって少しずつ岩に苔生して、
何年、何十年かけて”あの景色”になっていくんでしょうね。
そう思うと、山の岩に生えてる苔が急に神々しく見えてきます。
It doesn’t feel fully rooted yet, but it’s clearly trying to cling to the lava rock. In nature, moss creeps onto rocks like this over years, even decades — until it becomes “that landscape.” Thinking about it that way, the moss on mountain rocks suddenly looks sacred.
次は撒きゴケ組——ホウオウゴケとネズミノオゴケの結果は？
Next: The Makigoke Group — What Happened to Houougoke and Nezuminoogoke?
さて。
Now then.
順調組だけでは終わりません。
もう一つ、
「撒きゴケ法」で着生を試みた
ホウオウゴケとネズミノオゴケ
But the story doesn’t end with the success cases. There’s also the makigoke group — Houougoke and Nezuminoogoke, which I tried attaching by scattering.
こちらも確認してみます。

増えたのか？
現状維持なのか？
それとも静かに解散したのか？
Did it grow? Stay the same? Or quietly disband?
正直、肉眼では判別不能です（笑）
Honestly, impossible to tell with the naked eye. (lol)
でも、ここでひとつ面白い発見。
But here’s one interesting discovery.
どうやら苔にも
「貼り付け法向き」
「撒きゴケ法向き」
がありそうなんですよね。
It seems moss can be divided into types better suited for the “paste method” and types better suited for the “scatter method.”
ヒノキゴケは比較的ガッチリ系。
だから固定してやると安定しやすい。
逆にホウオウゴケみたいな繊細タイプは、
撒くだけではうまく密着しないのかもしれません。
Hinokigoke is relatively sturdy, so fixing it in place leads to stable attachment. On the other hand, delicate types like Houougoke may not adhere well when just scattered.
今回の実験でわかったこと——苔にも性格がある
What This Experiment Revealed — Moss Has Personality
つまり今回の実験でわかったこと。
So, here’s what this experiment taught me.
苔にも性格がある。
Moss has personality.
ゴリゴリ根性型もいれば、
繊細すぎて環境にうるさいタイプもいる（笑）
Some are tough and determined; others are so delicate they’re picky about their environment. (lol)
いやほんま、人間みたいやな。
でも、この「うまくいった」「なんか微妙やった」を観察する時間がめちゃくちゃ面白いんです。
Honestly, just like people. But that’s what makes observing the “it worked!” and “hmm, not quite…” so incredibly interesting.
完成品を買うだけじゃ味わえない、
“育てる趣味”の沼。
しかも苔って、変化が遅いからこそ
ちょっとした成長が異常に嬉しい。
The deep satisfaction of a “growing hobby” — something you can’t get from just buying the finished product. And because moss changes so slowly, even the tiniest growth feels incredibly rewarding.
たぶん今の私、
普通の人が犬猫の成長見るテンションで苔見てます（笑）
Right now I’m probably watching moss grow with the same energy a normal person uses to watch their dog or cat grow up. (lol)
さて、次の1か月後にはどうなっているのでしょうか。
このまま溶岩石が苔に侵略されるのか――。
それとも、私のテンションだけが先走ってるのか――。
So — what will happen in another month? Will the lava rock be fully taken over by moss? Or is it just my enthusiasm running ahead of the moss?
