今回はテラリウムの下地用に、東海砂利さんのウエイト砂を購入してみました。
This time, I bought some weight sand from Tokai Gravel to use as a base layer for my terrarium.
この砂をガラス容器に敷いて、溶岩テラリウムをさらに映えさせていきます。
I’ll spread this sand in a glass container to make the lava rock terrarium look even more stunning.
主役はシノブゴケ！約20日後のビフォーアフター
The Star: Shinobugoke! A Before & After at ~20 Days
今回主役になるのはこちら。
約20日前にシノブゴケを撒きゴケして育成中の溶岩石です。
Here’s today’s star — a lava rock I’ve been growing Shinobugoke on using the makigoke method for about 20 days.

おお…！
よく見ると、しっかり芽吹いてきています。
Oh wow…! Looking closely, you can see it’s definitely sprouting.
こういう小さな変化、たまりません（笑）
These tiny little changes are just irresistible. (lol)
ガラス容器にウエイト砂を敷いて下地を作る
Preparing the Base: Laying Weight Sand in the Glass Container
まずはガラス容器にウエイト砂を投入。
First, I poured the weight sand into the glass container.
思っていた以上にサラサラで粒もきれい。
これはかなり使いやすそうです。
It’s smoother and more fine-grained than I expected, and the particles are beautiful. This is going to be really easy to work with.
さらに水差しでしっかり湿らせます。
Then I gave it a good soak with a watering bottle.
乾いた砂もいいですが、湿らせると色味が締まって自然感アップですね。
Dry sand looks nice too, but when it’s damp the color deepens and it looks so much more natural.
溶岩石を投入！指が入らない問題と格闘する
Dropping in the Lava Rock! A Battle with the “My Fingers Won’t Fit” Problem
そして、いよいよ溶岩石を投入……なのですが。
And now, the moment of truth — dropping in the lava rock…except.
予想通り、指が入らない問題発生。
As expected, the “my fingers won’t fit” problem has arrived.
容器の入り口ギリギリサイズ（笑）
The rock is basically the exact size of the container opening. (lol)
慎重に角度を変え、なんやかんや格闘した結果……
After carefully tilting and twisting it and wrestling with it in various ways……
入りました（笑）
It went in. (lol)
しかも設置してみると…
And once I set it in place…
めちゃくちゃちょうどいいサイズ感。
It fits absolutely perfectly.
最初からこの容器専用に作られていたかのような収まり感です。
It looks like the rock was made specifically for this container from the start.
最後に蓋をして完成。
Finally, I put the lid on — and it’s done.
まとめ——砂が入ると、世界観がグッと引き締まる！
Summary — Adding Sand Pulls the Whole World Together!
今回は、溶岩テラリウムを飾るためにガラス容器＋砂景色と言う組み合わせに挑戦してみました。
This time, I tried the combination of glass container + sand landscape to display a lava rock terrarium.
苔だけでも十分魅力的ですが、砂が入ることで全体の世界観がグッと引き締まりますね。
Moss alone is already beautiful, but adding sand really pulls the whole world of the piece together.
これからシノブゴケがどこまで広がっていくのか…。
蓋の向こう側で進む小さな成長劇場を、のんびり見守っていこうと思います🌱
I wonder how far the Shinobugoke will spread from here… I’m going to enjoy watching this little growth story unfold behind the glass, at its own pace. 🌱
